Yesterday, Afpa and the Pôle Véhicule du Futur welcomed teachers from various disciplines to the Afpa training center in Mulhouse. A total of 19 participants attended the event. The goal was to highlight the growing importance of hydrogen technologies, the rising need for related skills, and ways to meaningfully introduce these topics in high schools.
The day was divided into two parts. In the first part, presentations covered the activities of Afpa and PVF, national strategies, the increasing demand for skilled professionals, and the significance of hydrogen for industry and mobility. The Région Grand Est also presented tools and resources to help teachers integrate hydrogen topics into their programs.

The second part focused on practical demonstrations, including the training container and various H2 models, such as the one previously showcased in Metz during the Franco-German Days. Trainees from the ongoing hydrogen VET program also presented the H2 Mobile Training Lab and other hands-on teaching tools, sparking curiosity and discussion.

Beyond the presentations, the real value of the day lay in the exchange between initial education and vocational training. The event aimed to inspire curiosity, encourage discussion, and establish teachers’ access to contact points for support with hydrogen projects, teaching resources, or company visits. This dialogue allowed participants to build connections, pool expertise, and identify shared, mutually beneficial opportunities.
