From May 7 to 9, the prestigious World Endurance Championship (WEC) took place at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The internationally renowned competition, famous for its Le Mans-style endurance racing cars, attracted thousands of motorsport enthusiasts, industry professionals, students, and families from across Europe.

During the event, Technifutur and the University of Liège joined forces to showcase innovative hydrogen technologies and raise awareness about the future of sustainable mobility. Through an interactive booth, a hydrogen-powered fuel cell kart, and several educational hydrogen models, visitors had the opportunity to discover how hydrogen can contribute to the energy transition and the decarbonization of transport.

Over 350 children, parents, students, and adults visited the stand throughout the three-day event. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of hydrogen energy, fuel cell technology, and the growing role of clean energy solutions in motorsport and everyday mobility.

The initiative aimed not only to demonstrate technological innovation, but also to inspire younger generations to engage with sustainable engineering, renewable energy, and future mobility solutions. By bringing hydrogen technologies directly into the exciting atmosphere of international motorsport, Technifutur and the University of Liège successfully connected education, innovation, and public engagement.

The event highlighted the increasing importance of hydrogen in the automotive and racing industries, where manufacturers and research institutions continue to explore low-emission alternatives for high-performance mobility.
